Our Story

We're May and Peter, a tech executive and a real estate attorney based in the Hudson Valley, NY. In 2018, we set out to build the modern home we'd been dreaming about. We had no construction background, just high standards and a systematic approach to complex problems.

What We Did

We acquired raw land, hired Olson Kundig to design a 3,000 sq ft steel-concrete-glass home, and then watched COVID blow up every budget and timeline. We acted as our own GC, not because we thought we knew better, but because we believed we could build better systems.

• Completed 33% under budget, despite COVID price spikes
• 4.17x equity multiple (316% return on invested capital)

Why We Built This

Dwell featured our approach in 2023. Friends started asking for help. We launched a consulting practice (MAOR) but couldn't take on every project personally. Building Blueprint is the complete system, documented and accessible, for anyone ready to take command of their build.
